It's a crime! (Or a mystery…)

#fridayreads – Coming from CORVUS in JULY 2012

News from Corvus of what’s coming in July:

THE BLIND GODDESS by Anne Holt published 10th July (crime fiction, trade paperback, £12.99, ISBN: 9780857892256)
Anne Holt is one of Scandinavia’s most successful crime writers. Her two crime series – featuring Johanne Vik and Hanne Wilhelmsen – have sold more than 5 million copies and are translated into twenty-five languages.   With the publication of 1222, which went on to become a bestseller, Corvus introduced Hanne Wilhelmsen to the UK. The Times called it ‘an homage to Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple – or Miss Marple as a badass, paralysed Norwegian lesbian detective’. Publication of The Blind Goddess takes readers back to book one of the series to find out what led Hanne to her current life as a wheelchair bound detective. Never before published in English, The Blind Goddess delivers a superbly chilling story of corruption in the corridors of power.

A NAME IN BLOOD by Matt Rees published 19th July (fiction, hardback, £14.99 ISBN: 9781848879195)
Artist, lover, swordsman, gambler: a wild life which ended mysteriously. But was Caravaggio murdered?  A Name in Blood is a superb tale of intrigue and wrong doing in Renaissance Italy from Matt Rees, author of the award winning Omar Yussef crime series.

WHAT IT IS LIKE TO GO TO WAR by Karl Marlantes published 5th July 2012 (non-fiction paperback, £8.99, ISBN: 9780857893802)
A harrowing account of the truth of war from the bestselling author of Matterhorn, Vietnam veteran Karl Marlantes.

FEAR NOT by Anne Holt published 10th July 2012  (crime fiction paperback, £7.99, ISBN: 9781848876125)
Book 4 in the Johanne Vik series.

looking forward to The Blind Goddess, I like Anne Holt’s books though was not so taken with 1222. Fear Not is very good, I think.
