From the CWA site:

Unlike most other literary prizes, the Dagger in the Library is awarded not for an individual book but for the author’s body of work … The nominated authors must be alive, preferably working in Britain and cannot have won the award before. As the award is for a body of work, authors should have published at least three books. Entries from reading groups or individuals are submitted through libraries. Nomination forms may be downloaded by clicking the links at the top of the right-hand column. Groups who nominated the winning author will be entered into a draw for £300 to be spent on books.

I wonder what has gone wrong this year. I have read books by six of them and heard of four more. Perhaps I´ll have to begin to take this prize seriously 😉

Slightly OT, sorry, but I have just read a very good debut novel – The Summer of Dead Toys by Antonio Hill – published soon in UK. If it qualifies for the debut dagger, it would be well worth considering in my opinion. It is translated from Spanish but I cannot find any info on the translator (the author is a translator so he may have done it hiimself).

Thanks Maxine. I had spotted your review, but many thanks for ensuring I did not miss this one.
