Via a Google alert, an interview with Danuta Reah at LEFTLION Magazine hit my inbox yesterday. Danuta is a former Chair of the Crime Writers’ Association in the UK and a CWA Short Story Dagger winner. She is also the current Chair of the judges for the CWA’s John Creasey (New Blood) Dagger Award so those with novels about to be published and those hoping to be published would do well to note some of her comments in this interview. Danuta’s interview arrives to coincide with publication of her novella Not Safe by Five Leaves in their Crime Express series. Here’s the synopsis:
Farah Jafari needs sanctuary, but now she is dead. A man is in custody and soon the case will be closed. DC Tina Barraclough works with refugees like Farah and the man under arrest and she knows there is something wrong with the official version. She is off the case, but needs to find out what really happened. What price is she prepared to pay?
Danuta provides some key background to the novella in her interview, so do take a look. You can order a PB copy of Not Safe at the Inpress Books site here for £4.99. It’s also available at Amazon at the same price and in more formats. Danuta’s site can be found here. Danuta has also written under the name Carla Banks.
