It's a crime! (Or a mystery…)

Crime and literary appearances at Bradford’s Book Festival

Bradford’s Book Festival under the excellently excitement-provoking banner of "Big Summer!" which covers far more than books and reading, runs from June 29 to July 16.

On the book side, take your picks from Rageh Omar, Will Self, Sadie Smith, Jake Arnott, Stella Duffy, Michael Norton, Joolz Denby and Sophie Hannah, amongst others.

Now, when it comes to crime specifically, Jake Arnott and Stella Duffy are doing a joint event entitled "Crime and The Big Gay Read" on Thursday, 6 July at 7:30pm, at the Great Victoria Hotel, Bridge Street, Bradford.  James Nash is interviewing them about their writing and "The Big Gay Read Recommended Reading List".  Tickets are £3/£2.

Arnott, is well known for his "The Long Firm" trilogy, the first book of which, carrying the same name was televised last year.

Duffy writes the "Saz Martin series" along with other novels.  At the Harrogate Crime Writing Festival‘s Friday night "Foul Play", chaired by Simon Brett and based on his popular Radio 4 panel game, Duffy can also be seen alongside Mark Billingham; where they both don their "actor hats" and play to the audience.  Like the Saturday night quiz, it’s an established classic for the Festival.
